Augustin Dupré (also Dupre)
1748 - 1833
The creator of a medallion of Franklin struck in bronze, silver or brass; a bronze medal was owned by Jefferson, and hung in the tea room at Monticello.

Dupré was a friend of Franklin's, who lived near Passy, and who shared Franklin's interest in printing and other sciences. Franklin gave some congressional commissions to Dupré, including the one for this medal.
