A miniaturist, born in Geneva, the son of a goldsmith. He was trained there, and came to Paris. His patron was the younger brother of Louis XIV, and he achieved great success as an enamelist. He is cited as having shown at the Salon de la Correspondence - which Franklin supported - in 1781 and 1782.
See Sellers for a discussion of his work, and the possibility of his authorship of at least one miniature of Franklin.
