Franklin's only daughter. She was raised almost exclusively by her mother during Franklin's prolonged absences while he served as a diplomat in England and France. When Franklin returned to Philadelphia at the end of his service, Sally served as his hostess and nurse until his death. She married Richard Bache in 1767 and they had seven surviving children, through whom all direct descendants of Franklin living today originated.
