Claude Mozet
18th century French craftsman. Made c. 1740 type matrices (molds) for Franklin which Franklin used to cast type for his printshop at Passy. His 1754 type specimen book was inherited by Hémery, the printer who bought his foundry. Franklin brought Hémery and his foundry to Passy, and established him on the grounds of the Hôtel de Valentinois, where he lived.
