Jean-François Janinet
1752 - 1814
Cited as both an artist and a chemist, Janinet was a master printmaker. Examples of his work survive in many public collections. Because of his invention and development of the process of color aquatint engraving, he became the primary interpreter of the works of Boucher and Fragonard.
