Marie-Anne-Pierrette Paulze Lavoisier
1758 - 1836
The wife and collaborator of scientist Antoine Lavoisier, and artist of a portrait of Franklin. She survived her husband's death in the French Revolution and hold a salon which attracted the scientists of the Directory and Empire. She was courted by, but rejected, Pierre-Samuel Dupont du Nemours, but in 1805 was married briefly to the American Count Rumford.
