The print is an allegorical representation of the four corners of the world, represented by four symbolic figures, paying respect at the tomb of Voltaire. Franklin, in fur cap, mocassins and robe, represents the New World.
The engraving is signed C.M., and inscribed "Se vend à Paris chez Alibert Md. des Estampes, au Palais Royale, et chez LeNoir, Md. des Estampes du Roi, au Louvre / 1785".
