The tool is a small iron ladle or spoon with a wooden handle. The oval ladle is of thin, hammered iron, and is dished slightly. Two iron pins at the center of one of its longer sides fasten it to a thin, flat iron bar which has been driven into the end of a cigar-shaped wooden handle crudely whittled from a length of wood.
