An oriental export plate, decorated in what is called the Imari style, has survived with a history of ownership first by Franklin, and then his sister, Jane Mecom. Franklin and his younger sister remained close all of their lives, and he sent her gifts either directly or through his wife. The plate could have been part of a gift from him to her, or could have come from his and Deborah's household.
