Burslem, Staffordshire, England
Ralph Wood II (the younger) (Attributed)
Cream-colored earthenware; H. 13 1/2in. (34.3 cm)
American Philosophical Society (Philadelphia, Pa.)
The figure is apparently based on a contemporary image by a German pottery sculptor. The English potter Ralph Wood II has rearranged the elements to represent Franklin, who is seen here with what may be the Royal Society's Copley medal.
