This portrait was apparently derived from the Edward Savage mezzotint done after Benjamin West's altered copy of the David Martin original. The colors are altered and the dimensions are reduced. Franklin's coat is vermilion, without gold braid. The tablecloth and chair cover are green. The curtain is blue.
