Six engravings from a series - all are Roman gods: Pluto, Neptune, Saturn, Sol, Vulcan, Mercury. The compositions feature the exaggerated postures, distorted features and limbs, and elaborate costume and surroundings characteristic of the best of the Mannerist style.

They are numbered as follows: Pluto: 3; Neptune: Goltzius 2; Saturn: unnumbered, inscribed Volk, and Anno 1592; Vulcan:4; and Mercury: 8. All are marked with Goltzius' signature: H and G entwined.
