Sellers, Charles Coleman, Benjamin Franklin in Portraiture (New Haven: Yale University, 1962)

Provenance
This is the only wax image of Franklin to survive with a continuous history of ownership. It has been in the family of Franklin's London landlady until the middle of the 20th century. It was given by Franklin to either Mrs. Margaret Stevenson, or to her daughter, Polly Stevenson Hewson. It descended in her family until given to the APS by the Stevensons' great-great-granddaughter, Mrs. Frances M. Bradford in 1960.
