The oval image of the young man's head, shoulders and upper chest show a youth dressed fashionably in a deep green coat with red piping at the standing collar and large metal buttons and white neck linen. His hair is crimped and powdered. It is interesting to compare it to the portrait of his father, painted in London at about the same time.
