The engraved pair of portraits show a very young "Genl. Washington" and the fur capped "Dr. Franklin" derived from the Cochin-St. Aubin image, which seems to have been the most widely copied by contemporary printmakers. The bust-length images face each other; beneath each is the subject's name.
