Provenance
The specimen from which the dimensions and illustration were taken is in the collections of the Library Company of Philadelphia, an institution founded by Franklin. A note on the copy, placed there by Pierre Eugène DuSimitière, the institution's librarian, reads,"This is the original and best print of the repeal. It came from London to Philadelphia and was put up in the coffee house there the day the news arrived of the Stamp-Act being repealed." Consult the Library Company's website for further discussion of the print.
