Provenance
A letter in the Rare Book & Manuscript Library records of the teapot states: "This teapot was handed down to me through my father Gen. H.L. Scott, and he received it from his mother Mary Blanchard Hodge Scott who was a great great grand daughter of Benjamin Franklin. I have always been told that Benjamin Franklin owned the teapot. Also the same is true of the cufflinks." Signed: Lewis Merril Scott.
